Wound Care Resources
We know that patients who are informed and educated have the best chance of healing – and preventing future wounds. As you age, your body becomes more susceptible to wounds. Wounds can also take longer to heal. Proper wound care for all wounds, even small ones, is essential to help you live a more comfortable and productive life.
Why is proper wound care important?
Wound healing is a complex process. Untreated chronic wounds can lead to infection, amputations, and other complications. Proper wound care with the correct dressing can help protect the wound from the environment, and promote healing.1
Are wound care supplies covered by Medicare?
Medicare will generally pay for medically necessary wound care supplies and treatment prescribed by a physician.
