Pediatric Ventilation Program
Rotech is dedicated to helping all of our patients, even the youngest ones, lead a more comfortable life at home. We recognize that pediatric patients need a much different approach to ventilation therapy than an adult, and that’s why we’ve developed a specialized Pediatric Ventilation Program with their specific needs in mind. Our program provides expert care and support for children who require mechanical ventilation, improving quality of life for the patient and their family.
We assign each patient a personal Ventilator Patient Specialist experienced in meeting the unique needs of pediatric patients.
These clinicians help coordinate care and communication, acting as a single point of contact for the patient, caregiver, physician, and other providers. Our goal is to make sure families understand the equipment and feel comfortable using ventilator therapy.
- Individual plans of care: each patient will have an individualized, comprehensive plan of care
- Family/Caregiver Education and training on ventilator use: supporting patients and the most important members of their care team – their caregivers – with the training, knowledge, and confidence to succeed with ventilator therapy
- Customized Ventilator Therapy Coaching to ensure patient comfort and compliance: state-of-the-art technology, patient interfaces, and equipment set up by specially-trained healthcare professionals
- Close cooperation with primary care physicians to continuously titrate settings as prescribed to meet ongoing ventilation needs
- Ongoing follow-up with your Ventilator Patient Specialist
- In-home visits every 30 days (at minimum), with weekly visits during the first month
- Portable ventilators: to assist with transporting patients in the home and to appointments, keeping patients as active as possible
- Second ventilators available to patients who qualify
- A dedicated hotline for 24/7 clinical support: trained professionals available 24/7 for questions and troubleshooting
